Various VBA groups produce linked lists, documents and study-based reports to assist lawyers. Some provide added value to all or a specific segment of our members. Many, however, we make available to the public. A sampling of documents and other resources follows:

Rule of Law Project

Everything the lawyer or local bar – and teacher – needs to know to engage students about the rule of law as the basis for all our rights and responsibilities in the United States. Planning documents. Check lists. Lesson plans. Instructional materials. Classroom videos. Created by the Virginia Law Foundation & The Virginia Bar Association Rule of Law Project, initiated with the VBA.

Pro Bono Resource Center

Lawyers who want to provide pro bono publico assistance can find a match for their skills and interests through organizations on this list. Compiled by the VBA Corporate Counsel Section.

Principles of Professionalism for Virginia Lawyers

This document succinctly states the standards of civility for lawyers. These aspirational standards are endorsed by the Supreme Court of Virginia. Crafted by a special commission of The Virginia Bar Association.

The special commission also created a CLE course for local bars to present on the Principles of Professionalism.
