Congratulations to the VBA Young Lawyers Division for its superb showing in the American Bar Association Awards of Achievement Competition! At the recent ABA Annual Meeting, the VBA/YLD received first place in Division IC for its Comprehensive application, first place for Service to the Bar (Attorney Mentor and Referral Network), and second place for Service to the Public (Legal Food Frenzy). Many thanks to Awards of Achievement Chair Lucas Hobbs, who compiled the entry materials, and to the entire Division for its excellent work!

Later this year, accessing certain areas of The Virginia Bar Association’s website will require a bit more effort than a simple mouse-click. In other words, VBA members will need a password to view protected areas of the website. This feature will protect members’ privacy and allow the VBA to provide more value-added features for members only. To simplify matters, each VBA member will have a unique user name which consists of that member’s ID number. The password will be the member’s ID number plus the first three letters of the member’s last name, as indicated by the following (facetious) example:

Member: Virginia B. Lawyer
User Name: 12345 (VBA member ID)
Password: 12345law
(member ID plus first three letters of last name)
