Success at the Workplace: Advice for Diverse Attorneys and Law Students

This free webinar will offer advice to diverse candidates, including law students and recent graduates, on how to market themselves to potential employers and discuss how practicing attorneys can succeed in the workplace. Presenters will include in-house counsel, a partner at a private firm, and a public interest attorney.

Speakers

  • Abrar Azamuddin joined the Virginia Office of Attorney General in May 2014. He primarily serves as counsel to the Department of Medical Assistance Services. Abrar graduated from Loyola University Chicago and Marquette University School of Law.
  • Elaina Blanks-Green, a general tax attorney, joined Norfolk Southern Corp. in October 2012 and has practiced law as a tax attorney for the past 12 years. A VBA member since 2005, she has served two terms as chair of the Taxation Section. In 2014, she served as the Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the VBA. Before that, she chaired the ABA/YLD Awards of Achievement committee and co-chaired the Diversity Recruitment committee. Elaina graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Virginia School of Law.
  • Monica McCarroll, Of Counsel at Redgrave LLP, has extensive experience working as a trial attorney specializing in complex civil litigation having tried cases in both federal and state courts. Monica now focuses her practice on providing advice and counsel on information governance, electronic discovery, and cybersecurity issues. Monica received a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, and a B.A. from The College of William and Mary.
