Membership dues may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense, but are not deductible as a charitable contribution. However, the Association does estimate that 12 percent of your basic dues are used for lobbying expenses as defined by Section 13222 of the Revenue Reconciliation Act of 1993, and are therefore nondeductible as a business expense.
