Amendments to Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia

Changes in the rules regarding the filing of electronic briefs with the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Court of Appeals of Virginia take effect July 1.
The amendments affect Rules 5:6, 5:26, 5A:4, 5A:19, 5A:20, 5A:21 and 5A:25. The Supreme Court posted the rule changes on April 10 on its website, under What's New. The Guidelines and User's Manual referenced in the rules will be available online in mid- to late May, according to the court.
Additional changes, also take effect July 1. They:
- Amend Rules 5:10, 5:15, 5A:7 and 5A:10 and add Rules 5:13A and 5A:10A;
- Amend Rule 5:17A and add Rule 5A:38; and
- Amend Rules 5:9, 5:17, 5:18, 5:19, 5:20, 5:30, 5A:6, 5A:12 and 5A:23 and add Rules 5:6A and 5A:4A, as well as delete Rule 5:20A
