How do I log in?

Using your Username and Password from the VBA email sent July 9, you can log in and update your new password and customize your profile options. Visit to log in from the upper menu bar or use the “Sign In” box on the right-hand side of the page.

My old login doesn’t work. What should I do?

With the new website, we ask that our members use the VBA-provided Username and Password to log into the system for the first time. Please change your password to maintain your security. Feel free to view your new, improved profile.

If the VBA does not have your email address or you are not able to log in, please call the office at 804-644-0041 so we can help you gain access to the new website and your member profile.

Why is my photo missing from my VBA member profile? It was there before.

Unfortunately, photos could not be transferred to our new website. We encourage you to update your member profile and upload a new photo to share with the VBA community! Simply click on the blank headshot image to upload a photo from your digital device. Learn more about the enhancements of the website.

Why am I receiving notice of other members updating their profiles?

We have fixed this for you and apologize for any influx of emails you may have received. Our new, more robust members-only area includes many new features and these notification categories slipped under the radar at first. The new default setting means members will not automatically receive emails when colleagues change their profiles, join a section to which you belong or when a section peer uploads a photo. However, you can override the default settings with your own preferences. When the flurry of member activity is over, we encourage you to revisit the My Preferences page (Member Login>My Profile>Manage Profile) you were taken to when you first logged in and review personal settings to receive emails for updates you are interested in.

I never logged in on the old site. What should I do?

There is no better time to get more involved with the VBA. We encourage you to check out the new website and create a log-in to access your member profile. You can update your member profile so the VBA has up-to-date contact information. You'll find streamlined ways to interact and reconnect with your peers and the VBA.

I’m not a VBA member. I am a lawyer. How do I join?

We welcome you to join the VBA community by visiting and clicking "Haven't joined yet?" From here, you can select your Membership Type and elect to join one or several of our sections or make a VBA Foundation patron donation. If you have questions about joining the VBA, contact the staff at 804-644-0041.

I registered and paid for the upcoming Summer Meeting, but my profile doesn’t show that I’m registered. What should I do?

Please do not register again. If you received confirmation of your payment, then we have your registration! We were unable to automatically transfer your registration to the new website. VBA staff will enter each registration manually.

I noticed a link that doesn’t work. Whom should I alert so that it can be fixed?

Please contact Marilyn Shaw or call 804-644-0041 so the VBA can continue to improve website functionality.

How do I get to the Home page?

Simply click the VBA logo at the top left of the page to return to the Home page at any time.

Why can’t I see a directory of all the members in my section/the YLD/the VBA?

All of the data and information from our previous website was migrated to the new site, where possible. The VBA is continuing to make the necessary connections updates to create a fully functioning member database. Once all member information has been added or replicated, and our platform provider can assist us over some hurdles, member directory searches of up to 1,000 members at a time will be possible. Meantime, you should be able to search for individual members from your profile.

Where can I send constructive criticism about the new website?

The VBA welcomes your feedback on our new website with added features and expanded functionality. Please contact with your constructive criticism so we can continue to improve for our members!

How visible is my profile?

If you want to keep any information private, please call the VBA office at 804-644-0041, and we will be happy to adjust your privacy settings for you.

When I click on my bookmark, why do I get an error message?

Although our URL ( has not changed the actual destination did change. If you see an error message when you come to, please clear your cache so your bookmark correctly takes you to our new website. This will ensure that you can see the updated content on our page. To do this, view your browser history or settings and find the option to clear the cache or remove website data.
