The 18th Annual Bankruptcy Law Conference of The Virginia Bar Association is scheduled for April 17-18, 2015, at the Sanderling Resort in Duck, North Carolina. This annual seminar, sponsored by the VBA Bankruptcy Law Section, seeks to provide at least 4 hours (1 ethics) of MCLE Credit (approval pending).

Scheduled activities will kick off on Friday evening with a cocktail reception to welcome meeting attendees and guests. Programming will take place Saturday morning until 12:30 p.m. Sessions will feature a number of bankruptcy judges and attorneys from across the state. Topics include:

  • "Recent Bankruptcy Case Developments" featuring The Honorable Stephen C. St. John and Jeremy S. Williams, Esq.
  • "Hot Topics in Consumer Bankruptcy Cases" featuring Carl Bates, Esq. and James L. Pedigo, Jr., Esq.
  • "Hot Topics in Business Bankruptcy Cases" featuring The Honorable Frank J. Santoro and Augustus C. Epps, Jr., Esq.
  • "Recent Trends in Bankruptcy Ethics" featuring The Honorable Keith L. Phillips and John D. McIntyre, Esq.

Conference attendees staying at the Sanderling Resort can receive the group rate of $255 per night by calling 800-701-4111 or 252-261-4111 by March 17 and identifying themselves as being with The Virginia Bar Association for the dates of April 17-18. We are passed our room block cut-off date, so room reservations will be given on a first-come, first-served basis until the resort is fully booked.
