Hear from Donita M. King of Donita King Law Offices, PLC and the Honorable Stanley P. Klein (ret.), now with The McCammon Group Ltd., in a one-hour discussion on "Effective Advocacy in Mediation." Moderator for the call will be Julie Hottle Day with Culin Sharp Autry & Day P.L.C.

This is the first in a planned series of free, informational teleconferences on ADR topics geared for young lawyers presented by the Joint Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of The Virginia Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar. The series is being planned by Melissa Little, the VSB's Young Lawyers Conference liaison with the Joint ADR Committee Council.

About the speakers

Attorney Donita KingKing has provided ADR services ranging from mediation, arbitration, early neutral evaluation, collaborative practice and other facilitation models since 2002. Disputes range from family and divorce cases, to all types of civil disputes. Previously, she worked for more than 20 years as a corporate in-house and general counsel for Fortune 100 companies. She is certified as a mediator by the Supreme Court of Virginia and is an approved ADR trainer and mentor, and a Collaborative Law Trainer. King served as chair of the Joint ADR Committee in 2015. She earned her law degree at Villanova University.



Former Fairfax County Judge Stanley P. KleinKlein, who served as a judge in the 19th Circuit Court, in Fairfax County, from 1992-2010, is a certified mediator through the Supreme Court of Virginia. He is a member of the VBA and of the George Mason Inn of Court, Emeritus. He's been listed as a "Top Lawyer" for mediation in Washington, D.C., by Washingtonian, and among the "Legal Elite" in Alternative Dispute Resolution in Virginia Business magazine. He is a former partner at Klein & Greenspun and a former chair of the VSB's Standing Committee on Professionalism. He earned his law degree at Georgetown University.

About the moderator

Attorney Julie Hottle DayDay, a longtime Virginia practitioner, represents parties in family law litigation and small business transactions and litigation. An active member of the Virginia State Bar since 1991, she has been recognized as one of the top divorce attorneys as among the top attorneys of all specialties in the Washington, D.C., area by Washingtonian. Day has lectured and appeared as a panelist on the issue of work-life balance for presentations by the National Association of Women Lawyers and the Virginia State Bar. She earned her law degree from Washington and Lee University.
