This event will be held in person and virtually. NEW COVID-19  UPDATE: All in person attendees will be required to wear a mask in the meeting space. We will do our best to be socially distant, but the building is requiring masks for all in person attendees.

The VBA Appellate Summit is bound to be an informative event, thanks to its prestigious speakers and presenters. Chiefs from the Supreme Court of Virginia (Chief Justice Lemons), Court of Appeals of Virginia (Chief Judge Decker) and United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (Chief Judge Gregory) are speaking on a panel.

Alice T. Armstrong, K. Lorraine Lord, and Hon. Stephen R. McCullough will open the program with their presentation on "Practicing in the 'New' Court of Appeals of Virginia." With additional presentations on "Hot Topics and Developments in Criminal Law," featuring David B. Hargett, Donald Jeffrey III, and Richard Cooke; "Preview of the 2021-2022 SCOTUS Term" with William M. Jay and James J. O'Keeffe IV; an ethics panel featuring Graham K. Bryant, L. Steven Emmert and Juli M. Porto; and more, this is an event you'll want to be sure to attend.

The 2021 VBA Appellate Summit is scheduled for Sept. 9 in the offices of McGuireWoods in Richmond. This event does not come around every year, so be sure to mark your calendars to attend.
