2019 Legal Food Frenzy logoMore than 160 legal offices and law schools raised 1.3 million pounds of food for Virginia's seven food banks during the 13th annual statewide Legal Food Frenzy in April.

The project is a collaboration involving the Attorney General's Office, the Federation of Virginia Food Banks and the Young Lawyers Division of the VBA. Participating law firms and legal departments compete regionally and by type of office and size for awards for the largest contributors.

The top award, for the law office raising the most pounds per capita, is the Attorney General's Cup. Sumner Immigration Law of Richmond contributed 2,264 pounds per person to capture the honor.

In statewide categories, Regent University again won among law schools, Norfolk Southern Corp. took Corporate Legal Department honors and the Prince William County Attorney's Office placed first in Government and Public Service.

Winners will be recognized at a ceremony in Richmond this month.

Since becoming a statewide event with the YLD's involvement in 2007, the Legal Food Frenzy project has raised more than 18 million pounds of food.
