Updated April 3, 2020

To our loyal members and friends:

The Virginia Bar Association is only as strong as the members we serve. We cherish the relationships cultivated over our 132-year history as the first and largest voluntary statewide bar in the commonwealth.

We hope to strengthen that bond during this unprecedented time of uncertainty. The safety of our members and staff has always been a priority. Now, more than ever, we are vigilantly enacting changes to ensure the comfort and confidence of Virginia lawyers.

Accordingly, effective at the close of business today, March 16, use of the VBA on Main member center will be temporarily suspended. The VBA team will continue to serve you, but by working at alternative sites. The VBA management and officers will reassess the situation on Friday, March 20, and share any updates. (On March 20, the suspension was extended one week to March 27. As of April 3, use of VBA on Main remains suspended until further notice.)

Please keep staff informed of any event changes so that members can be notified.

  • Reach staff as usual by phone or email.
  • Continue to reserve and use VBA conference call lines for association business.

All in-person events previously scheduled between March 16 through April 24 have been postponed or rescheduled. Please visit the home page of our website and calendar at vba.org/events, to learn more and for updates and virtual meetings as the are added to the calendar.

We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may have caused and appreciate your understanding.
