The VBA Foundation

Each calendar year, The Virginia Bar Association Foundation supports charitable and educational pursuits of The Virginia Bar Association.

Recent donations to the nonprofit, tax-exempt VBA Foundation benefited these programs:

  • Legal Food Frenzy Project
  • Chief Justice's Pro Bono Summit
  • Lawyer Wellness Challenge
  • Practice Management Advisor Program
  • LPMD Education Programs
  • Special Issues Committee Educational Programming

Hundreds of VBA members expand the reach of VBA programs by becoming annual patrons of The VBA Foundation. They are recognized for their crucial support throughout the year they make their gift. Please consider donating every calendar year. Your generosity enhances your chosen profession.

The Virginia Bar Association Foundation logo-2019Gifts in memory or in honor of colleagues, friends or family members provide a living, continuing tribute, and are welcomed by The VBA Foundation.

We ask you to consider donating at least the equivalent of one billable hour each year.

The VBA Foundation is registered as a charitable agency with the Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs in the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. A financial statement about the foundation is available upon written request from the office.

Donors may deduct contributions to the foundation as provided in § 170 Internal Revenue Code.

Double your donation

Do you or your spouse work for an employer that provides matching gifts? Multiply your donation to The Virginia Bar Association Foundation by checking on eligibility with your employer's HR department. Matching gifts make your contribution go further, doing even more good.

Donors Receive:

  • a patron ribbon at the Annual and Summer meetings,
  • a lapel pin (optional),
  • a special letter of thanks from the VBA president,
  • recognition on the VBA website, and
  • special recognition in VBA publications.
