Board of Governors member Lonnie D. "Chip" Nunley III is one of eight Virginia attorneys named a 2023 Pro Bono Service Champion for reporting the highest number of pro bono service hours in the 2021-2022 bar year.

The designation comes from the Virginia Access to Justice Commission.

Nunley is a partner with Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP in Richmond.

An additional 12 attorneys were named champions for their high financial contributions toward the pro bono effort.

These include VBA members Kenneth B. Montero, retired, and Jon M. Talotta with Hogan Lovells US LLP.

The honorees were recognized at a reception during the Virginia State Bar Annual Meeting this month in Virginia Beach.
