Nearly 200 takers of the February bar exam in Virginia passed the test and 131 became licensed today, the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners reported. An additional 58 test takers passed the exam but have outstanding requirements to fulfill before they can be licensed.

The overall pass rate on the winter test was 66.08%, although first-time test takers passed at a rate of 73.49%.

The Supreme Court of Virginia will conduct an admission ceremony June 4.

All newly licensed lawyers are invited to join the VBA as a New Admittee or contact the VBA at 804-644-0041 to upgrade their law student membership to New Admittee status. Membership in the VBA is free for the remainder of this year for newly minted lawyers.
