Lisa A. Bertini has been honored with the 2025 Chair Award from the Virginia Bar Association's Labor & Employment Law Section.
The award, known in full as the Francis V. Lowden Jr. Award, was presented Sept. 12 at the section's annual conference in Richmond. The Labor & Employment Law Section is the VBA's second-largest section and hosts the third-largest statewide meeting.
The Chair Award was created in memory of Francis V. Lowden Jr., who was recognized as one of Virginia's foremost labor and employment lawyers. Established in 2001, the award reflects the values he demonstrated in his work: intelligence, loyalty and integrity.
Presented annually at the discretion of the Chair, the award recognizes a member who exemplifies these values through exceptional service to the Section and its Council.
Previous recipients include James V. Meath, VBA Past President, and numerous former section chairs.
Bertini leads her own Virginia Beach practice specializing in employment law and workplace discrimination. She previously served as a council member and officer of the VBA Labor & Employment Law Section.
In addition to her work with the VBA, she also serves as a panelist for the American Arbitration Association, participating in arbitration and mediation proceedings.
