You Belong in The VBA

The Health Law Section is for lawyers who represent providers, insurers or regulators in the health care space, and seek to stay updated on laws impacting patient care and compliance.

The VBA is affiliated with the American Health Law Association: Leading health law to excellence through education, information and dialogue, AHLA is the nation's largest, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to legal issues in the health care field. AHLA provides resources to address the issues facing its active members who practice in law firms, government, in-house settings and academia. Its members represent the entire spectrum of the health industry: physicians, hospitals and health systems, health maintenance organizations, health insurers, managed care companies, nursing facilities, home care providers and consumers.

Through this affiliation, the VBA and AHLA seek to:

  • facilitate the dissemination of information useful to their respective members,
  • increase and enhance educational and networking opportunities for their members,
  • increase the value of membership in each organization, and
  • provide a foundation for future initiatives to share resources, reduce costs and enhance services without increasing risks or costs of either organization.
