The VBA Corporate Counsel Section has initiated a project to help match in-house lawyers and corporate counsel with pro bono service providers. None of the pro bono service providers listed in the Resource Center limits volunteer opportunities to in-house lawyers, but each provider has malpractice insurance that will cover the volunteer attorney.

The Pro Bono Clearinghouse is a referral service of the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation, linking experienced volunteer attorneys with nonprofit corporations in need of legal representation.

The Whitman-Walker Health Legal Services Program
WWH provides free legal services to the LGBT and HIV/AIDS communities in the DC metropolitan area on matters related to access to health care. The program serves more than 2,500 clients each year, providing assistance on matters involving discrimination, insurance, immigration, medical debt, public benefits (Medicare/Medicaid/ADAP, etc.), estate planning, and elder and transgender rights.

Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center
The award-winning Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center provides opportunities for pro bono service in these areas of law: consumer, employment, family & juvenile, housing, life planning and nonprofit organizations. The program, supported by the Fairfax Law Foundation and the Fairfax Bar Association, provides civil legal services to poverty and indigent clients, as well as local nonprofits. Programs include: Neighborhood Outreach, Nonprofit Legal Support, Community Economic Development Project, Wills on Wheels, Family Legal Assistance Project, Uncontested Divorce representation, and work in consumer, employment and housing law. Volunteer opportunities are available in Fairfax. Clients must live in Fairfax County.

Legal Services of Northern Virginia
LSNV is a local legal aid program for individuals unable to afford private legal counsel. LSNV seeks to provide equal access to the civil justice system for residents of the City of Alexandria, the Counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William and the cities and towns adjacent to those counties. LSNV partners with pro bono volunteer attorneys and paralegals from the private bar to provide free legal services in civil legal areas including family law, housing law, elder law, public benefits claims, access to health care, child advocacy, employment and civil rights law, consumer law, AIDS/HIV issues and tax disputes. Staff and volunteers also provide free legal advice, brief service, and representation in administrative hearings and in court, as well as community legal education, and advocacy before local and state governmental entities.

Our services directly strengthen the financial stability of working families and ensure that all Virginians receive fair and equal treatment in tax disputes.
