A total of 158 aspiring lawyers passed the Virginia bar exam taken in February. Of them, 117 completed all admission requirements and have been licensed to practice law, according to the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners.
The Virginia Bar Association encourages new licensees to take advantage of a limited time free professional membership with the largest statewide voluntary bar group in Virginia.
New licensees, called Spring New Admittees at the VBA, can join as professional members for free for the rest of 2022. Go to the New Lawyers page or the Join page and create your profile. The Virginia Board of Bar Examiners announced that overall, 65.83% of exam takers passed. Among first-time takers, 76.38% passed.
Test takers listing their law school as George Mason, William & Mary or the University of Virginia saw 100% of first-timers pass the exam.
